Tech Baseball Signs John Ostrander

Texas Tech signed John Ostrander to a National Letter of Intent.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Head Baseball Coach Larry Hays announced today that San Antonio product John Ostrander has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Red Raider baseball team when fall workouts begin later this year.

Ostrander, a 6-2, 195lb senior catcher at Class 5A San Antonio Alamo Heights, is the second high school catcher to sign with the Red Raiders for the upcoming season. Ostrander along with Matt Smith of McKinney will battle for playing time as both come to Tech with solid resumes. Ostrander, a switch hitter, was an all-district selection last year for District 3-5A and plays for the Hack Shack summer league team.
