TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
โขย Texas Tech has now scored in 240-straight games dating back to the 1997 season, a streak that ranks 11th nationally and second in the Big 12 Conference.
โข This was Texas Tech's first overtime game since 2012, when the Red Raiders went to OT three times, going 2-1 in those games. Tech has now won three of its last four overtime games.
โขย Texas Tech's 345 yards of total offense marked its 60th-straight game with at least 325 yards of total offense, the longest active streak in the FBS.
โขย TCU's 24 points marked the third time this season Tech has held an opponent under 25 points.
โขย Texas Tech was held scoreless in the opening quarter for the first time this season. The Red Raiders were previously out-scoring opponents, 101-49, in the first quarter this year.
โขย Texas Tech failed to commit a penalty during the first half. It marked the fewest in a half for the Red Raiders since Tech committed just one penalty in the opening half last year against TCU. Texas Tech's first penalty did not come until 11:14 remaining in the fourth quarter.

โขย Douglas Coleman snapped a three-game streak where Texas Tech failed to record a turnover with his interception with 1:55 remaining in the third quarter. Texas Tech had not previously recorded a turnover since Jah'Shawn Johnson picked off Kansas midway through the fourth quarter on Sept. 29.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
โขย A week after setting the NCAA FBS record for total offense, Patrick Mahomes II was held to just 245 yards of offense as he was 24-of-39 for 206 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed a career-high 20 times for 39 yards, including a 15-yard rushing TD in overtime. It marked just the second time this year where Mahomes did not throw for at least 300 yards.
โขย Reginald Davis III caught Texas Tech's first touchdown of the afternoon as he hauled in a 33-yard pass from Mahomes. It marked the 18th receiving touchdown of his career and his second in as many weeks.
โข Clayton Hatfield connected on both of his field goals , including the game-winner from 37 yards. Hatfield is now 8-of-9 on field goals this season and 22-of-25 during his career.
โขย Da'Leon Ward had another good day leading the Red Raider rushing attack as the true freshman finished with season highs for carries (23) and yards (98). He also hauled in a season-high and team-high eight receptions for 49 yards.ย
โขย Douglas Coleman recorded his first career interception with 1:55 remaining in the third quarter as he picked off a Kenny Hill pass in the endzone.ย ย ย
โขย Malik Jenkins equaled his career high in tackles, which he set a week ago against Oklahoma, with 14 (10 solo).
โขย Jordyn Brooks equaled his career high in tackles with 10 (3 solo). He previously notched 10 tackles at Arizona State.
โข Justis Nelson, who already led the team on the season with six pass breakups, swatted three passes on the day, a season high for a Red Raider defender.
โขย The Red Raiders entered today ranked 90th nationally in third down conversion percentage defense, but held TCU to 5-of-15 on third down.
