Already planning on heading to Frisco? Here's a list of what to know for Saturday's scrimmage:
TICKETS ARE STILL AVAILABLE
Tickets for Saturday's scrimmage are still available through the Texas Tech Ticket Office. Fans can purchase tickets in advance by visiting the online ticket portal at TexasTech.com or by calling 806-742-TECH. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults 19 years of age or older, while students 18 years or younger will be admitted free. All fans, regardless of age, must have a ticket for entry into the Ford Center.
The Texas Tech Ticket Office will open at 11 a.m. Saturday outside the main entrance to the Ford Center, which is the indoor facility associated with The Star in Frisco complex. Tickets purchased in advanced can be picked up from this location as well.
PARTY ON THE PLAZA PRIOR TO THE SCRIMMAGE
The Tostitos Championship Plaza outside the Ford Center will open at 12 p.m. Saturday to begin a slew of activities for fans prior to the scrimmage. Live music will once again be provided by the Georgia Bridgwater Orchestra, while younger fans can enjoy numerous inflatable games such as an obstacle course or the Foot-Bull as well as a face-painting station.
Texas Tech will also offer free food to the first 500 guests to arrive in the B1 parking lot courtesy of Carpet Tech, Market Street and the Reagor Dykes Auto Group.
GREET THE RED RAIDERS ON THEIR WAY INTO FORD CENTER
Fans will be able to greet the Red Raiders on their way into the Ford Center as buses are expected to arrive on the Tostitos Championship Plaza around 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
FREE PARKING AVAILABLE Â
Parking will be available for fans throughout The Star complex as fans are encouraged to use the B1 or A2 surface lots as well as the Baylor Scott and White garage. Parking will be free for all fans.
SCRIMMAGE FORMAT
Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is expected to run the Red Raiders through roughly 100 plays Saturday in the second scrimmage this spring. Texas Tech will likely begin with a special teams period and then move into a full scrimmage, beginning with the current starters on both sides of the ball and moving to reserves. There will not be a scoring format or game clock for Saturday's scrimmage.
As part of the scrimmage, Kingsbury and his staff will put the Red Raiders through several situational periods where the offense and defense will face such scenarios such as 3rd-and-8 or drives that bein in the red zone. The scrimmage is slated to end around 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
CLEAR BAG POLICY IN PLACE AT THE STAR
Similar to Texas Tech home events, the Dallas Cowboys also enforce a clear bag policy for all fans entering the Ford Center. Metal detection and wand screenings will be used at entry points to Ford Center. Re-entry is not permitted.
TEXAS TECH TEAMS WITH MAKE-A-WISH® FOUNDATION OF NORTH TEXAS
The Red Raiders will have two special guests at Saturday's scrimmage in Zachary and Dylan, who will join the Texas Tech family as part of a partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas. Zachary and Dylan will be with the Red Raiders throughout the day as the official Texas Tech Fearless Wish Kids. In addition, Texas Tech's two Wish Kids from the inaugural Frisco scrimmage a year ago – Braden and Andrew – will also be in attendance at Saturday's scrimmage. ÂÂÂ
