
Grubb Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Senior setter is eighth on the school’s career assist list while pursuing a master’s in accounting.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Senior setter Marguerite Grubb of the Texas Tech volleyball team received distinction for her work in the classroom as she was recognized as Academic All-District by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday.

It marks the third time in her career she has been named a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection after also receiving the honor her freshman and sophomore seasons.

Grubb, who is currently eighth on the school's all-time assists list with 2,513 throughout her four-year career, posted a perfect 4.0 undergrad GPA while earning her accounting degree and sports a 3.86 GPA as she works towards her master's in accounting.

The Houston, Texas, native will be up for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be selected by vote of the Academic All-America committee and CoSIDA Board of Directors. A first, second and third team will be announced later this month.

In order to be considered for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a starter or an important reserve, have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, have played in at least half of the team's games at the position listed for their nomination and have completed one full calendar year at his or her current institution.

The Red Raiders return to United Supermarkets Arena Friday to take on Iowa State at 5 p.m.
