Fall 1997 Commissioner's Semester Honor Roll Announced

DALLAS - A total of 1,916 student-athletes, including 157 from Texas Tech, have been named to the Big 12 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fall semester which is an increase of almost 100 from last year's semester's honor rolls league announced Tuesday.
The 1997 Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll had 1,819 total names which was up two from the 1,817 named one year ago. Additionally, the Big 12 had 214 student-athletes earn perfect 4.0 grade point averages during the fall term.
Acknowledging all participants, the Big 12 Commissioneris Honor Roll is an inclusive honor for all sports sponsored by the membership of the league. The Honor Roll is recorded and released each semester and recognized those student-athletes who registered a 3.0 or better grade point average the previous semester.
Submitted through the Directors of Student-Athlete Support Services at each institution, those honored are not necessarily the stars on the field and court but those who participate on the team. They include the letterwinners and non-letterwinners and recognize every student-athlete who has excelled in the classroom.
