LUBBOCK, Texas - Greg Hulen, a 1998 graduate of Florida State University, has been appointed to the annual Texas Tech Media Relations internship effective August 1, it was announced today.
Hulen, a native of Sebring, Fla., will coordinate all media relations and publicity for the sports of men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field. He will also have significant duties related to the day-to-day operation of the Texas Tech athletic media relations office.
"We are very pleased to add Greg to our staff," said media relations director Richard Kilwien. "He had the initiative as a student to develop a strong background in media relations while at Florida State and he worked under an outstanding sports information director in Rob Wilson. I think he will do a fine job in the Texas Tech media relations office."
Hulen, who earned his Bachelor of Science in May with a degree in Communications, worked in the Seminole sports information office beginning in the summer of 1996 and served as the main contact last spring for the FSU men's and women's tennis teams. He also had significant responsibilities with the women's softball program and assisted in operations for football, volleyball and soccer home games. He has also worked the 1997 NCAA Baseball Regional and 1996 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships, both hosted by Florida State.
