INDIANAPOLIS, -- Texas Tech runners Rohan McDonald and Evette Turner advanced to Saturday's final heats at the 1998 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the RCA Dome Friday. McDonald recorded a preliminary heat time of 47.22 in the 400 meters, while Turner clocked a time of 4:45.54 in the women's mile run.

Turner, who claimed the Big 12 title in the mile, crossed the line at the national meet with a new season best time. She is currently second on Tech's indoor all-time list, and will be competing in a field of 17 runners in the final heat.
Event finals begin at 5 p.m. Saturday in Indianapolis, with the women's mile run at 6 p.m. and the men's 400 dash at 7 p.m.
