Raiders Headed To Regional Final
June 21, 1999 | Softball
FRESNO, CA - The Texas Tech softball team defeated South Carolina to advance to the NCAA Region 4 Championship game at 1:00 p.m. (PT) on Sunday.
Tech was forced into an elimination game with the Gamecocks after falling to top-seeded Fresno State 3-1 in the 2:30 game.
Thanks to Tech's 4-1 defeat of South Carolina, the Red Raiders will face the defending national champion Fresno State Bulldogs. If Tech wins the 1:00 p.m. game that will force a second game due to Fresno State's perfect record in the double-elimination tournament. The second game will follow 35 minutes after the conclusion of game-one if necessary.
