Red Raider Club Kickoff Luncheon Date Set

LUBBOCK, Texas - The annual Red Raider Club kickoff luncheon has been scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 3 at the Civic Center Banquet Hall, Associate Athletic Director Steve Locke announced today.
The master of ceremonies for the event will be Dallas-Ft. Worth-area sports radio personality Norm Hitzges. The host of a sports talk radio show on 570 KLIF in Dallas, Hitzges is one of the most popular sports personalities in the metroplex.
Also on the agenda is a preseason highlight video and an overview of the season from Head Football Coach Spike Dykes. A buffet lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. with the program following at 12:15. Numerous door prizes, including football season tickets, will be given away during the luncheon.
"The Red Raider Club preseason kickoff luncheon is always one of the most popular events of the season," said Locke, who helped direct the Red Raider Club to a 12th-straight record-setting local fund drive recently. "Our football team is getting ready to compete for the Big 12 championship and the entire community is getting anxious for that first game on Sept. 5. This year's luncheon should be a lot of fun and everyone is really looking forward to hearing speakers as entertaining as Norm Hitzges and Spike on the same agenda."
Tickets may be purchased through the Red Raider Club for $15 each. A reserved table of eight is also available for $140. Seating is limited. Contact the Red Raider Club at 806/762-2000 for more information.
