Red Raider Student-Athletes To Graduate This Weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas - Almost 50 student-athletes are among those who will walk across the stage at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum to receive their college diplomas on Saturday at Texas Tech University.
Among the graduates will be former football player and Denver Broncos draft pick Darwin Brown. He joins former teammates Cody Patton and Kyle Shipley in receiving their diplomas. Also, baseball player Brad Ralston and golfers Philip Tate and Julie McMayon will be receiving their college degrees.
"We are extremely proud of the kids who are receiving their degrees," said Assistant Director of Student Services John Anderson. "When we see those seniors walk across the stage, it's the pinnacle of what we do."
"When a kid comes in as a freshman and walks away with a degree, it's like our NCAA championship," Anderson added.
