Lubbock, Texas -
The Texas Tech softball team (28-23) split a Big 12 Conference doubleheader this afternoon with the Kansas Jayhawks, 1-4, 4-1.
Kansas's Sarah Workman seemed to be on pace towards a no-hitter against the Red Raiders until Sandy Butler's infield single in the seventh inning. However, it was not enough for the Red Raiders who combined for just three hits in the game
Kansas got things going early when Shannon Stanwix hit a homerun over the centerfield wall to put the Jayhawks up 1-0. In the fourth inning, Kansas would put the game away by connecting on four hits and three RBI's.
In game-two, Tech picked up where they left off on Saturday by slapping eight hits including a three hit fourth inning. Tech went on to cruise to a 4-1 victory.
The Raiders travel to Nebraska and Iowa State next weekend.
