Quotes:
TCU Coach Angie Raviaoli-Larkin The first round we played really well. The second round is what really hurt us. Today the score isn't great, but in the wind and that sort of thing, it was right there. It was really the second round that put us behind where we had to chase. Overall we had a good tournament. We had two freshmen here and it was their first time. Angela (Stanford) played great. Shannon (Fisher), our other senior, really had a great performance today too with a 74. Overall, our goal was to win it, but second place is good fun too.
Kathleen Takaishi, Oregon State I was pretty disappointed in the way I played today. It's not that I was really bad, I just made two bad shots that both resulted in double bogeys. But, I'm happy that our team won. That's great.
Oregon State Coach Rise Lakowske Our score was worse today. I think the golf course played a little more difficult today. Yesterday, the wind wasn't blowing early in the morning. I think the pins were a little bit tougher today and that is the way it should be in a final round. We made some mental errors today, but not so many that it killed us. I'm pleased in the way they played.
Brooke Lowrance, Texas Tech Today was a different story than yesterday. I didn't quite do exactly what I wanted to, but I survived. I had a pretty confident attitude. I never really thought about losing. For some reason I felt like the other two girls weren't playing at their top either, so it kind of put a little less pressure on me. I knew all I had to do was go out and play an even round. It was a struggle, but I tried.
(On playing the course for the third time in two days) It gets old, but every single time I play this course it's always different. I'm always in some place that I've never been before and I find water that I've never seen before. So, it's a challenge every day.
Texas Tech Coach Jeff Mitchell If you look at rankings, we finished exactly where we're supposed to. We struggled in this tournament last year. We finished fourth behind only one ranked team. I was a little disappointed in that finish. I'd have to say I'm a little disappointed in this finish. I think TCU was very vulnerable. They're the eighth ranked team in preseason polls and I really think we had a legitimate opportunity to beat them today. Those are the types of things you have to take advantage of if you want to get respect in the rankings. I'm a little disappointed in that regard, but last year we didn't play well in this tournament and then we came back and really started playing well after that. As I said yesterday, I do think there is some added pressure playing at home. I'm optimistic about the future of this team. We had some players that have not played a great deal of golf that came through and played some decent golf this week.
Brooke Lowrance, she's an All-American, what can I tell you. This is just going to be a stepping stone for her. Learning how to win, to me, is the very last thing that a college golfer has to learn and she's getting a real taste of that. I think that's going to be really important for her down the road. Every time she gets in that position now she's going to be more comfortable. Knowing that you're in that position the whole day and being able to come through and win, that's a major accomplishment.
