Women's Tennis On The Road Again This Weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team will make their final road trip of the year this weekend when they travel to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a pair of Big 12 Conference matches.
Texas Tech will play Oklahoma State on Friday, April 16 at 1:00 pm and Oklahoma on Saturday, April 17 beginning at 10:00 am.
The Red Raiders have lost seven straight on the road and eight straight overall. Currently, Tech is 2-7 in the Big 12 (4-14 overall).
Last weekend, Texas Tech fell to Kansas State by a score of 6-3. Amanda Earhart claimed the only singles win and teamed with Misty Meyer to win at No. 2 doubles. Zana Zlebnik and Alenka Ovin were victorious at No. 1 doubles.
Ovin has been the Red Raiders top player this season. She has posted an 11-7 singles record. Zlebnik is second on the squad with seven wins against 11 defeats. Noel Ruiz and Earhart are tied for third with six wins apiece. Earhart missed has missed four matches due to injury.
In doubles, the team of Ovin and Zlebnik is tied with Meyer and Ruiz for the team lead with three wins.
Oklahoma is ranked No. 56 nationally. Tech knocked off the Sooners last year by a score of 6-3. The Sooners are led this year by Kristin Guilford (12-6 in singles) and Danielle Knipp (11-6 in singles). The top doubles tandem is Guilford and Vivian Mracnova. They have posted a 6-1 mark at No. 2 doubles. Texas Tech defeated Oklahoma St. last year, 6-3.
