LUBBOCK, Texas - Jamie Vannoy and Jennifer Newhouse each posted first round 80s to tie in 29th place and lead Texas Tech to a ninth-place standing following the first round of the 15th Annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Rainbow Wahine Invitational. The Olomana Golf Course in Waimanalo, Hawaii, is the host course of the 54-hole event hosted by the University of Hawaii.

Pepperdine (8) leads the event by one stroke over USC (3). Arizona (1) is third, followed by Oklahoma State (9), Oklahoma (20), Hawaii-A, UTEP, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Minnesota, Colorado, Hawaii-B, Weber State and Osaka Gakuin University.

Melanie Hunt is tied in 37th place after shooting an 81, while Priscillia Hunt is tied in 44th with an 82. Stephanie Dukes is in 57th place with an 85.

The team tees off the second round on Wednesday morning at 8:30. The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Thursday morning.
