LUBBOCK, Texas - A group of Texas Tech student-athletes is donating its time and talents on Monday's university holiday to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House and the Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
The event will be held at Meadowbrook Golf Course and begins at 8 a.m. on Mon., April 16. Participants include Texas Tech student-athletes, Texas Tech coaches and various individuals from the community. Participants are asked to raise $500 in pledges. Beyond individual pledges, businesses or individuals are able to contribute $250 to be hole sponsors.
Participants will each play 100 holes of golf and are continuing to solicit pledges that will benefit the Ronald McDonald House and the Student-Athlete Advisory Board.
Individuals interested in making a pledge or finding out more about the golf marathon are urged to contact the Texas Tech Office of Athletic Academic Services at 742-0150. McDonald's is the official sponsor of the 100 Holes of Golf Marathon.
