LUBBOCK, Texas - Entries are being accepted for what has grown into the biggest golf tournament in West Texas --the 2001 Red Raider Open.
Meadowbrook Golf Complex will host the two-man team scramble event on Saturday, June 2. The entry fee is $60 per person and $275 per sponsorship.
Sponsors receive a two-man team, a hole sponsorship sign and dinner (Friday night, June 1) with Texas Tech coaches Bob Knight and Mike Leach, among others. All entry fees cover range balls, cart, lunch and beverages, promotional items including two tickets to the Texas Tech-New Mexico football game and the chance to win a number of prizes.
The field is limited to the first 576 paid entries. There will be shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m on both the Canyon and Creek courses. The past four years the field has averaged almost 500 players per tournament. One of the early commitments this year is former Texas Tech All-American Marcus Coleman, who is playing for the New York Jets.
