For the second consecutive season catcher Ashley Ready will miss playing time due to injury.
On a one ball no strike count Ready swung at a Nicole Neuerburg pitch and in the process dislocated her right knee. The game was halted for 10 minutes as she was carried away in an ambulance.
In the first game of the season versus Oregon Ready was removed in the third because her left shoulder popped out of socket.
Eleven games into the 2001 season the Austin, Texas native dislocated her left shoulder and had season ending surgery. Ready was 0-for-0 in the first game of the season against Oregon with a walk in her only at bat.
"Bless her heart it doesn't get any worse that that," commented Tech skipper Bobby Reevees.
