LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Department of Athletics and Collegiateauctions.com have joined forces to bring to Red Raider fans a series of auctions over the next three months.
The first auction is currently in progress with more than 20 items up for bid. Fans can log-on to www.collegiateauctions.com to bid on Texas Tech items, including autographed items by Hall of Fame basketball coaches Marsha Sharp and Bob Knight.
This venture is the first of its kind for Texas Tech Athletics.
"This is a great way to allow more Red Raider fans the opportunity to support our programs," Steve Uryasz, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, said. "We had very successful live auctions in Dallas, Houston, Austin, Amarillo and Midland/Odessa last year. But we realize that does not come close to including our entire fan base. Having an on-line auction, beginning with March Madness, should be a lot of fun for our fans nationwide."
Other schools involved with Collegiateauctions.com include Duke University, Dayton University, the University of Michigan and the University of Utah.
