Norman, Okla. - Texas Tech never really challenged the Oklahoma Sonners in the final game of Friday's doubleheader as it fell, 4-0, at the OU Softball Complex in Norman, Okla.
Oklahoma (31-8, 4-0 Big 12) got things rolling right from the start plating one run on two hits in the bottom of the first. OU right fielder Jennifer Stump led off the home-half of the first with a single and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Then Christina Enea doubled down the third baseline scoring Stump.
Tech (10-26, 0-6 Big 12) only had four base runners in the nightcap and never had a runner advance past second. The only real rally that the Red Raiders put together came in the bottom of the seventh as Kristi Robles led off the inning with a walk and Carmen Grindell was hit-by-pitch giving Tech first and second with one out.
The Sooners would strike again in the bottom of the fourth as with one out third baseman Leah Gulla hit a 3-2 pitch over the leftfield wall putting OU up, 2-0.
OU would tack on a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the game out of reach. The final two Sooner runs would cross the plate unearned as a pair of Kristi Robles errors allowed Oklahoma to bat seven.
Amie Stines gets the loss her ninth of the season as Tech drops its 12th consecutive game.
The Red Raiders will be in action April 3 as they will host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a doubleheader at "The Rock," first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
