LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Lady Raider softball squad hit the field today with two-a-day practices to prepare for the upcoming season. Tech will begin its season Jan. 31 when it travels to San Marcos, Texas, for the Bobcat Classic.
The 2003 season will see a strong mix of talent including ten returnees, six newcomers and two new assistant coaches, Dave Feinberg and Debby Abbott.
"We are very enthusiastic and optimistic about this upcoming season. We are looking forward to some great thing happening," said Coach Reeves.
Tech will endure a tough schedule with seven tournaments to prepare them for conference play. Fans can see the Lady Raiders in action when they play their first game at Rocky Johnson Field Feb. 25 against New Mexico State. Conference play will begin March 19 when Tech hosts Texas A&M. 2003 will see the return of the Red Raider Classic Tournament March 7-9, where 2001 National Champions Arizona will make an appearance.
