LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore Megan Hull (Mansfield, Texas/Mansfield) shot a three-round 223 to post her best career finish at the Anteater Invitational at the Coto de Caza Golf & Country Club in Coto de Gaza, Calif.

Hull tied for third place with Iowa State's Leanne Owens, recording her best finish at Texas Tech since finishing in a sixth-place tie at the 2002 Rainbow Wahine Fall Classic. Hull's tournament score improves her team-leading stroke average to 77.5 on the season.

Tech's Sheila Mendez (El Paso, Texas/Franklin) and Hazel Tan (Sarasota, Fla./Bradenton Academy) finished among the top 20 in 14th and 17th place ties, respectively, while Kim Kolb (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) just missed the top 20 in 21st place. Jackie Ey (San Antonio, Texas/Churchill) tied in 32nd place.

Texas Tech, which held a one shot lead over tournament host UC-Irvine following the first 36 holes, dropped to fourth after shooting a 316 in the final round, eight strokes higher than the second round total. The Lady Raiders, however, earned their fourth top 10 finish in as many tournaments during the spring season and snagged their second top five standing.

UC-Irvine (925) won the event by two strokes over Cal State Northridge (927). Michigan (929) finished one stroke ahead of Tech (930) in third. Iowa State (938), Denver (948), Boise State (961), Kansas (966), UC-Riverside (975) and Eastern Michigan (977) round out the top 10. Austin Peay (1,000), Cal Poly SLO (1,004) and CSU-San Marcos (1,031) finished 11th through 13th.

The Lady Raiders head west again in two weeks when Tech hits the links in its next event at the UCLA Bruin Classic in Los Angeles. The UCLA tournament will mark the third in five tournaments this spring played on the west coast (Lady Aztec Spring Invitational, which Tech won, the Anteater Invitational).
