Tech Softball Hosts No. 24 Kansas

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lady Raider softball team (14-32, 1-7) hosts the Kansas Jayhawks (21-11,1-5) Sat., at 2 pm and Sun., at 1 pm at Rocky Johnson Field.

The team is coming off a double header versus #5 Texas where the squad faced two losses, 2-0 and 1-0. The team is led by freshman Arlene Newton, who holds a .315 average with a team-high nine doubles and sophomore Kelly Rhyne batting .296.

The last match up between the squads was a 2-1 Tech loss in the Big 12 Tournament, May 2, 2002. Kansas has not handed Tech a loss at home since 1999.
