Tech Softball Opens Conference at Home Against Iowa State

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball will open its Big 12 schedule this weekend when it hosts the Iowa State Cyclones for a pair of games at Rocky Johnson Field. The games are scheduled for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and an 11 a.m. first pitch on Sunday.
The Lady Raiders enter the match-up with a 16-19 overall record, but have posted a 7-3 mark in the team's last ten games. Senior Elyssa Sigala carries a .394 batting average with seven home runs and 25 RBI into the contest and has been pacing Tech at the plate this season. Sophomore pitcher Erin Crawford is Tech's leader in the circle this season, posting a 7-6 record with a 1.89 ERA.
The Cyclones enter the weekend with a 3-4 mark this season on the road. Iowa State is hitting .178 as a team at the plate and has been outscored on the season by a mark of 91-48. Senior Julia Lindsey leads the team in hitting with a .250 average, while junior outfielder Misty Kimura leads the team in home runs with three and RBI with eight in addition to her .246 average.
