LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Andrew Dresser of Carrollton, Texas, earned his second selection to the Big 12's All-Conference Men's Golf Team, announced by the league office today. Dresser has been named to the All-Conference team two years running, claiming it in 2003 as a freshman.
Dresser currently ranks 47th nationally among all Division I players and fourth among Big 12 competitors.
Dresser's selection is Tech's third since the inception of the league in 1996. David Bolen (1999-2002) claimed the selection in 2000 to be Tech's only other golfer to receive the honor.
Dresser is coming off a 20th-place tie at the eighth annual Big 12 Championships, where he helped lead the Red Raiders to their second-consecutive top five finish. Dresser leads Tech overall with an individual season stroke-average of 71.07 and a career stroke-average of 71.54.
In Dresser's career at Tech, he's racked up five top five, nine top 10 and 14 top 20 finishes thus far. Dresser currently ranks first among Tech's top 10 individual (71.07) season-stroke averages and individual career (71.54) stroke-averages. His lowest score of 206 ranks third on Tech's top 10 54-hole scores and his lowest round of 67 ranks 10th on Tech's top 10 low rounds.
Dresser will look to lead the Red Raiders to another top five finish in their last regularly scheduled tournament at The Maxwell in Ardmore, Okla., May 15-16.
