Red Raiders Tied For 8th

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 37-ranked men's golf team is heating up the border. The Red Raiders are currently tied with No. 38 Texas A&M for 8th-place at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas, after two-rounds of play. Tech opened the day with a first-round score of 290 and finished with a second-round score of 288. The Red Raiders currently sit at 2-over-par heading into Saturday's competition..
Sophomore Andrew Dresser is tied for 6th-place, leading all Tech golfers, shooting a 140 on the day. Dresser shot consecutive rounds of 70 to place him within striking distance of the overall leader and sits at 4-under-par after two-rounds of play. Junior Chris Pace (76-71) and sophomore William Haddrell (75-71) ended the day as solid contributors tied for 36th-place. Both are currently 3-over-par in a competitive field. Tied for 48th and 56th are freshman Oscar Floren and sophomore Jonathan Lenz, respectively. Floren sits a 4-over-par and Lenz remains close with a score of five-over-par.
Tech will conclude their competition Saturday with a morning start at the Laredo Country Club.
