Lady Raider Golf In Seventh

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team finished the day just two strokes out of the top five at the Central District Classic in Parrish, Fla. The Lady Raiders closed out the first round with a 311 before improving that mark in the second round with a 300 team score.
Senior Megan Hull leads the way for the Lady Raiders in a tie for tenth, shooting a 147 over two rounds of play. Hull started the morning off with a 76 before returning to form with a second-round 71. Freshman Valerie Tan (77-76) is in a tie for 31st followed by senior Kim Kolb (76-78) in a tie for 34th.
Rounding out the Raiders is senior Sheila Mendez (85-75-160) and sophomore Marla Troester (82-85-167) in a tie for 57th and 69th, respectively.
Holding the top position through both rounds were the Tigers of Missouri (587), followed by Arkansas (589) and Baylor (595) in second and third, respectively. Closing out the leaderboard is Louisiana State in fourth, trailed by Michigan and Texas A&M tied for fifth with a 610 team score.
The Lady Raiders will conclude competition tomorrow with the final 18 holes of the event to begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. For complete results for today's standings, and live scoring tomorrow, go to www.golfstat.com.
