Men's Golf Hits the Greens

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No.25 Texas Tech men's golf team heads to Lafayette, La., for the 20th annual Louisiana Classics March 7-8. The Red Raiders are coming off a great start to the spring season after finishing seventh this past week at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
Leading the Red Raiders into action will be sophomore, and Tech's stroke-average leader, Oscar Floren who posts a team-low 72 on the season. Following the sophomore is junior Andrew Dresser who boasts the team's second-lowest stroke average of a 73.50.
Junior Tyler Symons (76.11), who was Tech's top finisher a week ago, improved on his season's numbers after finishing tied for ninth at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate. Closing out Tech's five competitors for the upcoming Classic are juniors Nicolas Allain and William Haddrell averaging a 75.44 and 77.33, respectively.
Tech is making its 12th appearance at the Louisiana Classic following last year's finish of third out of 15. Tech's third-place finish a year ago was the Red Raider's best finish over the past 10 years.
Tech enters the contest as one of only two teams ranked in the top 25, the other being No.13 Kent State. The remaining competitors are Arkansas State, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisville, Missouri, North Texas, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, SMU, Texas State and Tulsa.
The 54-hole event will begin at 8 a.m. on March 7 with 36-holes at Oakbourne Country Club (Par 72, 7002 yards). The remaining 18 holes are set to be played on March 8.
