Tucson, Ariz. - The Texas Tech softball could not find any answers for No. 3 Arizona or starting pitcher Taryne Mowatt on Saturday, as the Wildcats limited the Red Raiders to only one hit in a 6-0 victory at the Worth Wildcat Invitational at Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium in Tucson, Ariz.
The Wildcats were able to jump out to an early lead in the contest with two runs in the top of the first inning on a home run of the bat of second baseman Chlesie Mesa before taking a 5-0 lead with three more runs in the second inning.
Redshirt freshman Montana Patin was finally able to break up Mowatt's no-hit bid in the fourth inning with a single up the middle.
Tech starter Sarah Losleben took the loss in a complete game effort in which she struck out five batters and walked none.
Texas Tech softball will close out its run at the 2006 Worth Wildcat Invitational on Sunday as they take on North Carolina State.
