LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team climbed to national rankings this week as they appeared in all three major national collegiate polls.
The men's golf team was ranked 22nd by Golf Week, 23rd by Golf Stat and 17th by the GCAA (Golf Coaches Association of America) Bridgestone Coaches Poll. With these rankings, Tech becomes one of only four Big 12 conference teams in the Golf Week and Golf Stat poll.
The men are coming off of their best performance of the season after finishing second place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., on Feb. 5-7. Junior Oscar Floren posted individual championship at the event with a two-round total of 144 resulting in him being named Golf's World Player of the Week.
