"Since we are traveling every weekend, we have to come up with ways to entertain ourselves while waiting at the airports, driving on the buses, and waiting for others to finish at restaurants. Our team likes to play hackey sack, play a competitive game or two of Spades or Speed, catch up on some sleep, and occasionally we resort to doing out homework! This weekend we went to
Well, this tournament was extra exciting for me. I had my first outing as a Texas Tech pitcher this weekend against LSU! Honestly, the first couple of warm-up pitches were a bit nerve-racking. Everything was going so fast; I felt like I was in a downhill skiing contest! After a few deep breaths, I finally calmed down and could rest on the fact that I knew my teammates would be backing me up no matter what. It is an amazing feeling to be up on the mound and in control of the ball and the speed of the game. When I got my first strike out, I was actually quite stunned. I remember thinking, `Oh my gosh. I just struck out an LSU player. This is really happening!' I'm looking forward to many more awesome feelings like that!!
What made the tournament even better is that my dad got to see me pitch for the first time in my college career. I know he took billions of pictures to show to the rest of my family! This is the only pre-season tournament he could make and he couldn't have picked a better one!
Thanks for following our team! See ya next weekend in
