LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech officials announced today that assistant coaches Kellyn Tate and Jennifer Stewart have decided to leave the Red Raider softball program to pursue other interests.
The team, which is lead by second-year head coach Teresa Wilson, will move on without the coaches, and the replacement process is already under way.
"Jennifer has gone into the private sector to capitalize on an opportunity and hopes to compete again during the summer, and Kellyn has gone into the area of personal training for a major fitness group, which is an area she loves," said Wilson.
Texas Tech softball is back in action this weekend as it travels to Albuquerque, N.M., to take part in the 2006 Lobo Invitational, its final non-conference tournament of the year.
