NORMAN, Okla. - Sophomore second baseman Jennifer Bowers connected on her team-leading sixth and seventh home runs and drove in all four runs of a 4-2 Texas Tech softball victory over No. 15 Oklahoma in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday night at the OU Softball Complex. The Red Raiders could not complete the sweep, however, falling in the night cap by a score of 7-3.
The split leaves Tech's overall record at 12-22 this season and 1-3 in Big 12 play, while Oklahoma ends the series at 23-10-1 overall and 1-3 in league action.

Bowers made the score 4-2 in the top of the sixth inning when she connected on her second home run of the game, a high arching solo shot over the wall to left field.
Senior pitcher Julie Hauck entered the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with two runners on base and only one out. The Yukon, Okla., native worked her way out of a bases-loaded one out jam.
Tech starter Erin Crawford (7-9) picked up the win, tossing 4 and 2/3 innings allowing only two runs on six hits.
In game two of the contest, the Red Raiders took an early 1-0 lead when Bowers scored in the top of the second inning on a passed ball. The Sooners responded in the bottom of the frame, tying the game at 1-1 on a RBI double by Savanna Long.
In the home half of the fourth, Oklahoma pushed across four runs to open a 5-1 advantage. The inning's biggest hit was a two-run home run by third baseman Traci Dickenson.
Oklahoma added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run double by leadoff batter Norrelle Dickson.
The Red Raiders attempted to rally in the top of the seventh inning, scoring two runs on a RBI single by Montana Patin and a sacrifice fly from Brandy Moulin.
