LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Athletics Department will begin selling Raider Power t-shirts starting this Saturday at the Tech-Iowa State Homecoming football game as part of the newly announced Raider Power Spirit and Sportsmanship Campaign.
"Raider Power is something that is very important to our team and the rest of the student-athletes here at Tech," said Red Raider Quarterback Graham Harrell. "We hope our fans will buy into this campaign, buy a t-shirt and wear it every time you come to a game."
As part of this campaign that was announced in July, the athletics department encourages all fans to purchase their Raider Power t-shirts and begin wearing them at all home events starting with the Iowa State game on Saturday. The t-shirts will be available at all Campus Design locations and the Double T Zone and for purchase at all four major gates to Jones AT&T Stadium at Saturday's homecoming game.
"Attendance at our football games this year is on pace to set an all-time average attendance record," said Director of Athletics Gerald Myers. "The outstanding show of support for the Red Raiders is greatly appreciated by our football players, coaches and staff. "We want to encourage your attendance at the remaining home games and have you show your support for Raider Power and what this sportsmanship movement means for our university."
The objective of the Raider Power campaign is to promote spirit and sportsmanship by defining a popular Red Raider cheer "Raider Power" as: Honor, Respect, Pride and Tradition. Through these four simple words, Texas Tech hopes to maintain a distinct home field advantage yet unify Red Raider fans through spirit and sportsmanship.
The Raider Power t-shirts can be purchased for $6 each.
