LUBBOCK, Texas - Entries for the 2007 Red Raider Open are currently being accepted through the Texas Tech Red Raider Club. The event is scheduled for Sat., May, 19, at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Lubbock. This year's Red Raider Open will include special appearances by former football coach Spike Dykes and former player Stoney Garland.
The celebration will be kicked off with a benefit dinner and auction for Stoney Garland on Friday, May 18th at Jones AT&T Stadium- Club Level. Reservations are requested in advance, $20 per person (tickets will not be sold at door). Please contact the Red Raider Club to make your reservation 742-1196.
One of the largest golf tournaments in the state of Texas, the Red Raider Open features morning and afternoon sessions, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the Canyon and Creek Courses. Entry fee for the event is $75 per person or $150 per team. The fee includes green fee, cart, practice balls, on-course beverages, lunch and two football tickets. Each session will begin with a shotgun start.
Additionally, prizes for holes-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive also will be awarded, while a raffle drawing will feature Texas Tech merchandise and autographed memorabilia by Texas Tech coaches.

Hole Sponsorships: Hole sponsorships also are available to businesses and/or individuals. All hole sponsors will receive a customized sponsorship sign with business' full color logo that will be returned to the sponsoring business with the autographs of Tech coaches Mike Leach, Bob Knight, Kristy Curry, Larry Hays and Wes Kittley. Hole sponsors also will receive two complimentary player entries.
There are five levels for hole sponsorships: Golf Cart Sponsorship -- $1,500; Exclusive Hole Sponsorship -- $1,000; Hole Sponsorship -- $400; Contest Sponsorship -- $750; and Coupon Opportunity -- $250. Proceeds from hole sponsorships will go toward funding scholarships for Texas Tech student-athletes and the Stoney Garland Fund.
