Van Niekerk Tied for Lead at UNLV Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas - Senior Ulrika Van Niekerk shot four birdies in the second round and is tied for the lead as all five Lady Raiders improved on its second round scores at the UNLV Invitational.
The Lady Raiders dropped a spot in the team standings after carding a 291 and is shooting a 21-over 597 for the tournament. UNLV leads after the second round at 19-over 595 for the tourney.
Van Niekerk is tied with Marta Silva and Natalie Gleadall for the lead. The senior improved four strokes from the first round. Junior Rosalyn Kim improved five strokes recording a even 72 and sits at 5-over for the tournament. She is tied in ninth place.
Senior Megan Dowdy shot five birdies in the second round and improved by five strokes, but dropped five spots in the standings. The senior is tied for 17th place. Sophomore Alex Gibson shot a three-over 75 and sits tied for 25th with a two-day total of 153.
Sophomore Robyn Scott made the biggest improvement in round two. She shot a three-over 75, 10 strokes better than her first round. Scott is tied for 61st place.
