AUSTIN - Texas Tech softball travels to Ames, Iowa, to face the Cyclones of Iowa State in a weekend series. The Red Raiders head up north after dropping a game to the University of Texas, 7-0, on Thursday night. The Cyclone's enter the weekend series with an overall record of 17-16 and 0-2 in the Big 12 Conference, after dropping four out of their last five games.
Texas Tech (10-27/0-5) has lost its first five Big 12 Conference games, and is 1-4 in its last five contests. Last year against Iowa State, Tech swept the Cyclones in Lubbock (6-1, 4-3) to take an overall series lead, 15-11.
Iowa State is led by Courtney Wray who is batting .329 with 27 hits and 17 RBIs, followed closely by Carliegh Berry hitting .319 with 36 hits and 10 RBIs. Rachel Zabriskie leads Iowa State in the circle, with an ERA of 1.90 and a record of 10-11.
