Kim Sits Eighth at Canes & Cardinal Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf squad is in fifth place after a strong first and second round from junior Rosalyn Kim, who is in eighth place at the Canes & Cardinal Classic being held in Miami Lakes, Florida.
The Texas Tech Lady Raiders shot a 609 after two rounds. San Diego State is in first with a 591.
Kim carded a two-over 74 and three-over 75 in the first two round of the tournament and is currently in eighth place. Jackie Smith strong play continued into this tournament as she is tied for 20th. The sophomore shot a 153 (74, 79).
Seniors Megan Dowdy and Ulrika Van Niekerk are both tied for 26th. Dowdy shot a two-over 74 and followed it up with an eight-over 80 in the second and van Niekerk carded a four-over 76 and six-over 78.
Sophomore Alex Gibson shot a 159 for two rounds and is tied for 42nd overall.
The Lady Raiders will play the final round tomorrow starting at 8 a.m. (EST).
