LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech athletics department will honor local heroes with its Veterans, Active Military, and First Responders Appreciation Week, scheduled for November 6-13.
Companies and individuals who would like to donate to send veterans and military personnel and their families to designated Texas Tech events may do so by contacting the Texas Tech Athletic Ticket Sales office at (806) 742-8300 or by emailing carly.reger@ttu.edu or rodrick.evans@ttu.edu. $30 provides a ticket to the Red Raider football game vs. Missouri, the Lady Raider basketball game vs. Angelo State, and the Red Raider basketball game vs. Louisiana-Monroe.
The week of activities starts with Red Raider volleyball and football on Saturday, Nov. 6. The volleyball team is presenting complimentary admission for veterans, active military and first responders and family members for its match against nationally-ranked Nebraska at the United Spirit Arena.
Veterans, active military and first responders in the Lubbock and surrounding areas will have access to special $20 tickets for the Texas Tech vs. Missouri football game, also on Nov. 6 at Jones AT&T Stadium. The tickets are a discount of $45 off the original ticket price and can be ordered online at texastech.com with promo code "hero" or by calling (806) 742-8300
This group is also eligible to purchase $5 tickets to the Lady Raiders basketball season-opener against Angelo State on Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. and will have the same opportunity to see the Texas Tech men's basketball team on Friday, Nov. 12, as the Red Raiders take on Louisiana-Monroe at 7 p.m. for their 2010-11 season-opener at the United Spirit Arena.
The Texas Tech volleyball program will conclude the week presenting complimentary admission for our local heroes at the Texas match on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.
