"The girls have set some pretty high goals for themselves," said Texas Tech head coach JoJo Robertson We worked really hard on those this December and have set some pretty high goals and they have worked hard getting ready for this first tournament. We haven't had just too many days that we have been able to play but we have been inside a little bit and have worked hard in the weight room and I think they are excited about the spring."
The tournament will consist of three 18-hole rounds and will be played on the Trump International Golf Club-Championship Course. The par-72 course was designed by Tom Kite and boasts a total yardage of 6,219. Texas Tech will be looking to dethrone 2009 champion and No. 4 Purdue and will face off against non-conference foes No. 8 Alabama, No. 27 Florida State, No. 16 Georgia, Indiana, No. 33 Kent State, Michigan, No. 38 Northwestern, Penn State, SMU, and No. 50 Wisconsin.
"Definitely look for the freshman to play key roles for us; we are going to travel with Gabby Dominguez, Kim Kauffman and Beverly Mendoza. All three are going to be in our top five this season. Alex Gibson has been around for a while and is a junior. She won in the fall and so she is looking to win another tournament. Rosalyn (Kim), who has been our leader all year, is our only senior. She should be able to have a good year and finish on a good note."
