LUBBOCK, Texas - The popular event, held this year prior to the holiday season, featured of variety of acts from each of the 17 teams in an evening of fun with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics Texas.
Men's golfer, Erik Grahn, took home the grand prize with his stellar rendition of "Save Me" by Justin Nozuka. He accompanied himself with an acoustic guitar.
Quarterback Jacob Karam earned second place on the evening, as the repeat performer treated the crowd with a vocal performance, along with his brilliant piano playing. (He and teammate Brian Duncan won the event in 2009, as Karam played while Duncan sang.)
"Each year the talent show is always a great event and we want as many people there as possible, not only because we're raising money for a very special cause, but because it gives our community another way to connect with many of our amazing student-athletes," said Justin Paysinger, Director of Student-Athlete Affairs for the Texas Tech Athletics department said just before the event began.
