LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's golf team will look to defend the UTSA Tournament title when the Red Raiders begin play Monday morning at the Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.
Tech is one of 17 schools in the tournament, including Big 12 foes Baylor, Kansas State, Iowa State, and Oklahoma. The Red Raiders have claimed the tournament title in each of the last two seasons.
Nils Floren finished fourth in the event a year ago, while Tyler Weworski capped a top 10 finish in seventh overall. Tech edged Southeastern Louisiana by two strokes to claim the tournament title.
The Red Raiders are coming off a sixth place finish last week at the Ameri Ari Invitational in Hawaii. Weworski finished a career high fourth in the tournament to help lead Tech in one of the toughest tournament fields of the season.
The Red Raiders tee off at 8 a.m. Monday morning. Fans can keep up with the action at www.golfstat.com.
