Dominguez, Gibson Lead Texas Tech After Round One

LUBBOCK, Texas - Gabby Dominguez and Alex Gibson both finished 3-over and 4-over, respectively, to lead Texas Tech in the first round of the Kinderlou Challenge held at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.
Dominguez' round left the sophomore tied for 16th on the individual leaderboard as the Lady Raiders enter Monday's second round in a tie for 12th in the team standings. Gibson's 4-over 77 is tied for 27th overall.
Kim Kaufman and Hannah Arnold were Tech's next lowest scorers with 7-over 80 cards. Deborah DeVilla finished 10-over after shooting a 83 first round.
Coastal Carolina controls the team lead after posting an 11-over 303 first round. Western Carolina trails by a stroke while Chattanooga sits two strokes back and Georgia, Florida State, Furman, and Augusta finished with a 14-over 306 opening round.
Emma de Groot of Chattanooga and Hannah Thomson of Florida State share the team lead following 2-under 71 opening rounds.
