Lady Raiders Move Up One Spot at Kinderlou Challenge

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team moved up one spot on the leaderboard Monday after a 26-over 318 second round at the Kinderlou Challenge in Valdosta, Ga.
The Lady Raiders, who entered the day 12th in the overall standings, are now 47-over for the tournament, which trails 10th-place Georgia by five strokes. Coastal Carolina enters Tuesday's final round with a six stroke lead atop the leaderboard at 16-over-par.
Kim Kaufman had the best day of any Tech player as the sophomore was even-par after the first nine holes. She had some trouble on the back nine, though, with two bogies and a triple-bogey but wrapped the round with a birdie to finish with a 4-over 77.
Alex Gibson trailed Kaufman by a stroke on the day following a 5-over 78 second round. She and teammate Gabby Dominguez enter the final round tied for 26th overall at 9-over after Dominguez recorded a 6-over 79 card. Kaufman is tied for 35th overall.
Tech's two remaining players, Hannah Arnold and Deborah DeVilla, both finished 11-over on the day, moving Arnold to 18-over for the tournament and DeVilla to 21-over.
Gibson drew the first tee time for the Lady Raiders on Tuesday morning as she will begin the final round at 8:40 a.m. (CT). Fans can keep up with the action at www.golfstat.com.
