LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team resumes its spring schedule with the start of the MountainView Collegiate Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., beginning with 36 holes Friday morning and another 18 holes on Saturday at the MountainView Country Club.
After sharing the team title a year ago, the Lady Raiders will be vying to repeat the performance against a tough field of 18 teams that includes a total of nine Big 12 schools. Colorado and Colorado State are co-hosting the event, which is in its 13th year of existence.
Playing in the event for the eighth time in school history, Tech shared the tournament title last year with Colorado State as the Lady Raiders used a strong final round to finish with a 26-over 890 card. Gabby Dominguez took home a share of the individual crown as the then-freshman recorded a 3-over 219 card over three rounds.
Dominguez comes into this year's event with three-straight top 20 finishes to start the spring, while teammate Kim Kaufman has placed inside the top 20 in each of Tech's last two tournaments.
The Lady Raiders, who are coming off an 11th place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational two weeks ago, will be participating in the tournament for the sixth-straight season.
The Tech contingent consisting of Dominguez, Kaufman, Alex Gibson, Deborah DeVilla, and Hannah Arnold all tee off at 9:30 a.m. (CT) Friday morning. Live scoring of the event will be updated at www.golfstat.com.
