Kaufman Qualifies for USGA Public Links Championship

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech women's golfer Kim Kaufman qualified this week to compete in the USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship to be held June 27-July 2 at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.
Kaufman navigated through a seven-player qualifying tournament Wednesday at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb. in order to qualify. The sophomore fired a 76 round that finished two strokes lower than her nearest competitor in Katie Keiser.
The Clark, S.D. native will begin the tournament with 36 holes of stroke play on June 27-28. The top 64 players will advance to a match play format which runs June 29-July 2.
