The best home football schedule in decades, the return of 18 starters from 2011 and a new look Big 12 Conference are just a few of the reasons to renew or purchase 2012 Texas Tech Football season tickets.
For the first time in school history, the Red Raiders will face off against Big 12 heavyweights Oklahoma and Texas at home in the same season. Texas and Oklahoma combined with projected Top 10 West Virginia will give the Red Raiders, arguably, the most exciting and competitive home schedule in school history.
"The 2012 Red Raider football season promises to be exciting," said Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt. "Jones AT&T Stadium offers one of the finest environments in all of college football and we have a great opportunity to provide record-setting attendance and support for our football program. With a tremendous home schedule, two consecutively ranked national recruiting classes and the return of so many players from a young team last year we look forward to kickoff of the 2012 campaign."
A revamped Big 12 Conference, in 2012, will include new league members TCU and West Virginia. The Mountaineers will play in Lubbock on Oct. 13 while the Red Raiders will travel to TCU the following week on Oct. 20. Texas Tech's 2012 home schedule features Northwestern State on Sept. 1, New Mexico (Family Weekend) Sept. 15, Oklahoma Oct. 6, West Virginia (Homecoming) Oct. 13, Texas Nov. 3, and Kansas on Nov. 10.
Beginning today, Texas Tech fans will have the opportunity to renew their season tickets online and thus securing their seats inside Jones AT&T Stadium for the 2012 season. Season ticket renewals will begin hitting mailboxes the last week of February. Fans will again have the option to pay their tickets in full, or elect to pay their balance in five equal installments, with the first payment due March 5 and the final payment due on July 2. Season tickets can be renewed instantly online at texastech.com/renew. The advantages of renewing online are a savings of $20 per order and the addition of five Red Raider Club Priority Points to your account. Season tickets can also be renewed via phone by calling the Athletics Ticket Office at (806) 742-4412 or 1-888-Go Big 12, or by mail. Renewals, that are paid in full, and placed by phone or mail can save $25 per order as well as the addition of five Red Raider Club Priority Points.
Following the renewal process, Texas Tech will organize seating upgrade requests based on Red Raider Club membership levels, April 3-19. Fans that were not season ticket holders in 2011 but have put down a deposit with the athletics ticket office for season tickets in 2012 will be seated before season ticket sales open to the general public on May 1, based on Red Raider Club Priority Points. Season ticket deposits are currently being accepted online at texastech.com or by calling (806) 742-4412.
Season parking at the United Spirit Arena or Raider Park is also available for renewal or as a new purchase amid the process of season ticket renewals. Information regarding donor based parking will be included in the football renewal process.
2012 SEASON TICKET PRICES
Season ticket prices have been standardized and an adjustment has been made to the Annual Seat Contribution (ASC, formerly ASL) by section. Season ticket prices have been lowered in almost every section in the stadium to a flat rate of $189 per seat. This means that the adjustment to the ASC amount may afford season ticket holders the opportunity to realize a larger tax deduction on their overall ticket purchase. Fans are encouraged to consult their tax advisor.
Fans will see price decreases in 13 sections in the stadium, ranging from $40 to $120 savings per seat. Pricing in six sections remains unchanged while 16 sections will see a modest $10 increase per seat. Four sections now have split pricing for lower and upper rows, resulting in an increase for the lower rows but a decrease for the upper rows.
