LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's golf team returns to the links Sunday afternoon with the start of the Westbrook Spring Invitational Sunday morning at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria, Ariz.
Tech enters the two-day tournament as the likely favorite as the Lady Raiders are the only squad in the 12-team field currently ranked in the top 50 by Golfweek. Kansas State is the only Big 12 school participating in the event.
After a seventh-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic less than two weeks ago, the Lady Raiders remained No. 28 nationally in the poll that has five Big 12 schools ranked in the top 30.
The duo of Gabby Dominguez and Kim Kaufman has led the Lady Raiders throughout the season with averages around par in each event. Kaufman leads the squad with a 72.8 stroke average with Dominguez trailing closely behind with a 73.0 mark.
Kaufman, who is coming off a 12th-place finish in Puerto Rico, has finished in the top 20 in all six tournaments thus far. Dominguez, meanwhile, finished seventh to open the spring, marking her fourth top-10 finish this season.
Head coach JoJo Robertson will also trot out Hannah Arnold, Elin Arvidsson and Deborah DeVilla for her second lineup in two tournaments this spring.
The Lady Raiders tee off the opening round at 9:30 a.m. (CT) Sunday morning for the first of 36 holes during the opening day. The tournament concludes Monday morning with the final 18 holes.
