With the win, Texas Tech improved to 20-13 all-time against the Cyclones as the Red Raiders have now won eight of the past 10 meetings.
The Red Raiders have scored 15 or more runs in each of the last three games against Iowa State.
Tech's 19 runs tonight mark the most ever against the Cyclones and only the third time Tech has reached double digits.
The Red Raiders improved to 10-5 all-time when playing Iowa State in Lubbock.
TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
The Red Raiders' 19 runs in the game marked the most against a Big 12 opponent in school history, snapping the previous record of 16 set just a year ago (March 10) against Iowa State in Ames.
Tech had not scored 19 runs in any game since defeating St. John's, 19-8, on Feb. 26 last year in Lubbock.
The Red Raiders have now scored 10 or more runs in four of their last six contests dating back to the March 16 run-rule of Seton Hall.
Texas Tech's 18 hits in the game marked a season high, surpassing the previous mark of 15 that had most recently been set in the second game against Manhattan on March 17.
The Red Raiders had not recorded 18 or more hits in a game previously since dropping 18 as well on Alcorn State on March 12 last year. Tech finished two hits shy of matching the school record.
The 26 total runs tonight from both teams were one shy of the school record which came in last year's 19-8 victory over St. John's on Feb. 26. The 26 runs were the most combined in a conference game in school history.
Tech had at least two home runs in the game for the third-straight outing. The Red Raiders are now 12-0 on the year when hitting two or more home runs.
The Red Raiders were previously 0-2 on the year when allowing six or more runs. Northwestern scored 14 runs against Tech Feb. 10 and No. 6 Texas scored eight in the series opener on March 6 in Austin.
Tech's seven runs surrendered tonight were the most in a Big 12 win since defeating Oklahoma State, 13-12, on May 5, 2007 in Stillwater.
Adriana Perez
Perez continued her tear of opposing pitchers, going 4-for-4 in the game with a home run and team-high four RBI.
She extended her hitting streak to 12-straight games, the longest for any Tech player this season.
It marked her team-high 13 multiple-hit game this year and nine multiple-RBI game on the season as well.
Her four hits marked a season high as she had recorded three in two different games this year. She has now recorded four or more RBI in three games this season as well.
Over the past three games, Perez is hitting .900 (9-for-10) with five home runs, 15 RBI, nine runs scored, and two doubles.
She has homered in each of those three games as well, giving her 12 now on the year, four shy of Sandy James' single-season record set just a year ago.
Sandy James
James finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of runs and three monumental RBI that came off a bases-clearing double in the second.
It marked James' eighth multiple-hit and eighth multiple-RBI game of the year.
Emily Bledsoe
Bledsoe crushed her second home run of the year, a three-run shot in the third, as part of a 1-for-2 day at the plate that included two walks.
The home run was Bledsoe's first since hitting another three-run shot against Binghamton on March 2.
Her three RBI matched her season high. It was also her fourth multiple-RBI game of the year.
Mikey Kenney
Kenney became the Tech all-time leader in runs scored tonight as she came across three times in the game to give her 136 for her career. She passed Kim Martinez who totaled 135 runs scored during the 1997 and 1999 seasons.
Despite breaking the record, Kenney will still have to hold off teammate Emily Bledsoe who has 134 runs scored over her career after scoring two tonight as well.
Kenney finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBI and a walk. It was her fifth multiple-RBI game of the year.
Logan Hall
Hall hit her first home run in the season with a three-run shot in the fourth inning. Her last home run had not come since hitting a solo shot against Long Island on March 18 last year.
Hall finished 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, marking her seventh multiple-hit game of the year and third multiple-RBI game so far.
Cara Custer
Custer's six runs surrendered in the game were one shy of her season high set against Northwestern on Feb. 10 in Arizona. Only five of those runs against the Wildcats were earned, though, marking tonight's six earned runs her season high in that category.
Despite the rough outing, Custer was able to pick up her Big 12-leading 16th victory on the year, the most for a Tech pitcher in a single season since Ashly Jacobs won 17 in 2007.
