THE OKLAHOMA SERIES• With the win, Oklahoma continues to dominate the series as the Sooners are now 37-6 all-time against Texas Tech.
• The win was the second-straight for the Sooners over Tech dating back to last year.
• The four total runs in the game were the fewest between the two teams in a regular-season game since the Sooners took a 4-0 victory in the second game of a March 29, 2002 doubleheader.
TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
• The loss snapped a 13-game winning streak for the Red Raiders, Tech's longest run since starting the 2011 season with a 24-0 record.
• The loss dropped Tech to 4-3 on the year in true road games and 0-3 in Big 12 play.
• The loss also dropped Tech to 2-5 against ranked opponents this season and 11-28 all-time under head coach Shanon Hays.
• Tech's one run in the game marked its fewest since falling to Texas, 2-1, on March 7 in Austin.
• The Red Raiders were one-hit in the game for the second-time this season. Texas State also tossed a one-hit gem against the Red Raiders en route to taking a 3-1 victory in the championship game of the Texas Shootout held in Waco.
• With the loss, Tech is 4-2 in two-run games this year and 3-2 in series openers.
• Keilani Rickets marked just the fifth left-handed starter Tech has faced this year. The Red Raiders were previously 3-1 in such games coming into tonight.
• The Red Raiders came into the series 21-1 when leading after three innings. Tech's other loss this year after taking a lead through three innings was Feb. 26 when Texas State rallied with a run in the fifth and two in the seventh for a 3-1 victory.
• Tech snapped a three-game errorless streak as Kelsey Dennis committed a miscue in the fifth inning. The Red Raiders came into the game with the fourth-highest fielding percentage in the country and the top one in the Big 12.
Adriana Perez
• Perez saw her season-high 14-game hitting streak come to an end as the junior went 0-for-3 at the plate.
• The hitting streak was previously the longest for any Red Raiders since Elyssa Sigala hit safely in 21-straight during the 2004 season.
Sandy James
• Sandy James connected on her eighth home run on the year with a solo shot in the first inning.
• The home run was James' 24th of her career, moving her into sole possession of third all-time in the Tech record book. She was previously tied with Paula Workman (1997-2000).
• The long ball snapped a home-run drought for James, who hadn't homered in Tech's last seven games. Her last dinger came off a two-run shot against Seton Hall on March 16.
Emily Cooper
• Cooper made her first career start at Tech tonight as she opened the game in left field.
• The junior went 0-for-1 at the plate in what was her first plate appearance during Big 12 play this year.
Cara Custer
• After a pair of rough outings last weekend against Iowa State, Custer came back with a solid performance as she gave up one run over 5.1 innings.
• The performance marked her best outing in her five conference starts this year. She had previously given up at least two runs while going 2-2 against league opponents.
