LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance, President M. Duane Nellis, Ph.D, and Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt have proclaimed each Friday during the upcoming athletics season as Fearless Fridays in an effort to promote university-wide pride and spirit.
All faculty, staff, alumni, students and fans are encouraged to wear Red and Black every Friday during the 2013-14 athletics season to show Texas Tech pride and spirit.
The Lubbock community is also invited to participate in Fearless Fridays, and local business owners are encouraged to have employees participate by wearing Texas Tech apparel to work each Friday. Citizens are also encouraged to fly Texas Tech flags every Friday to show support.
Fearless Fridays officially kicks off Aug. 30 with College Colors Day, a national movement in conjunction with the kickoff of the college football season. College Colors Day promotes higher education and celebrates the achievements, spirit and traditions of colleges and universities.
All Red Raider faithful are encouraged to visit the Locker Room, the official store of Texas Tech Athletics, located on the east side of Jones AT&T Stadium.
